Mixing Console

Know How to use

the Room Mixing Console

The LUCI ROOMS Mixing Console is a virtual mixer that controls the audio mix in the Room, displays an active guest list and displays important connection and stream information.

NOTE: Make sure you only have one Room Mixing Console open at any time.

  • Mute
  • The mute button means you can mute any guest in the Room. Other Room guests cannot hear them, but the muted guest can still listen.
  • Note: the guest will not get a notification.
  • Solo
  • This lets everyone in the Room listen to this guest only.
  • Note: the guest will not get a notification.
  • Name labels
  • These display the names of the guests connected to your Room. They can also be device names, e.g. ‘DiGiCo mixer’.
  • Fader / Volume adjust
  • Changes the level of the guests’ microphones.
  • IP
  • This is the IP-address information your guest uses to connect to the Room.
  • Jitter (ms)
  • This displays the network jitter from the guest to the Room. This is the time delay in data packets sent over the network connection. If these levels increase this might indicate your guests’ internet connection is unstable and might cause the audio connection to drop.
  • Dropped
  • The number of dropped data packets from the guest to the room caused by high jitter values. Many dropped packets indicate local recording is advised.
  • Jitter at user (ms)
  • This is the network jitter from the Room to the user. If these levels increase it might indicate your guests’ internet connection is not stable and might cause the audio connection to drop.
  • Streams
  • This is number of connection streams made to your Room. LUCI Rooms uses the stream cloning protocol; if your device has multiple internet connections using WiFi, Cable and/or 4G-5G Mobile network, LUCI ROOMS can use all connections simultaneously to ensure the best connection to the Room.
  • Channels
  • Displays the selected audio stream of the connected guest. This can be Mono or Stereo.
  • Recording
  • Show whether the guests in the Room are recording on their local device. This acts as an extra check to see if guests are also recording via LUCI Rooms, as a backup.
